I'd say focus RS, more pricey but comes with a quaiffe diff and is oober strong. It's easy to mount, Gear cables are easily fitted, loads of clutch choice. The tricky bits are hydrolic clutch pedal and electronic speedo. I've used an RS2K box but its a hore to mount in comparison, clutch choice is poor and gear selectors are not much fun either! All the mtx's have good points and bad.

yes just make sure you get them of same car and the lever will bolt straight up you just need to make a round hole for the cables to go through, the clutch is hydrolic aswell so if you need any idvice let us know but is easy to do

Is it not best to fit the st170 box being 6 speed or is this a lot harder to fit?

you asked about mtx the 6 speeder is not an mtx and you need to move your brake servo aswell as mounts/shafts/hydrolic pedal only thing you save on is cutting inner wing but it's got no diff and clutch flywheel combo's are harder to get

worth a go can't see them having one special made for rs box, all i've seen in ford range all look the same just some plastic outlets and some metal

Im thinking of using the FRS box on mine. How do you get round the electronic speedo?

All the slave cylinders are the same in mtx's and probably many other boxes. I've actually got an RS 1 and a mondeo 1 so PM me if you do need it.
