Default a few problems!!!

got a few nigling problems on my series 2, so thought i'd ask on here and maybe save myself some precious time in the workshop!

first one, the car has a single wiper conversion (done before i got it) it used to work fine with no problems at all. now if i put the wiper control stalk in the off position and the wiper is still in motion, it has an electrical effect on the car, its as though it cuts the car out whilst trying to power the wiper back to its rest position! it happens whilst driving and when idling, as soon as the wiper is back to its rest position its fine, its a split second electrical problem!! any ideas???

second one, i have had a new alternator within the past year and have just recently had a new battery, i have also had a the battery indication bulb replaced as it wasnt working. now my battery light is on most of the time, its only dim but its winding me up?? the battery is getting charged from the alternator and i have had no issues with the battery going flat or any running issues because of it? is it just an annoying earthing fault and where abouts could it be??

where can i get new floor pans for the front foot wells or get the existing ones strengthened???

1st one sounds like a bad earth posibley shorting to a live side on motor thus drainin all elec current from battary

2nd one this could be linked to the above do check all tightness off cables to and from batt starter and alternator

Take the cowling off the ignition barrell. Check the big fat red wire on the back of it, if its knackered or the solder has degraded, replace it.
