fuel pressure regulator
i was thinking about getting a progressive fpr for my escort only im not sure how it will work witht the car having an ecu for the fuel. will it confuse the ecu and cause me issues?
ive use them previously on other cars and never had any bother

The fuel metering unit conrols the fuelling by altering the fuel pressure, if you then have a rising rate FPR it will through things completley out as the RST fuelling is setup based on a fixed base pressure.
You may be able to use one if your tuner can set it up to work in conjunction with the metering unit.
Something like...
Base FP is 6bar as normal then the metering unit is adjusted to fuel correctly taking into account the increasing fuel pressure from your RR FPR as MAP increases.
If it works it might even give more accurate fuelling than the normal setup?
But these are just off the top of my head thoughts!

It is much easier to hack to the electrical fuelling adjustment (that adjusts the control pressure) than to tamper with the base pressure. All in all, it is not a EFI system, and a rising rate regulator will not work as it does in other cars.
