Default 1.8 zetec head onto 2.0

After lifting off the head of my 2.0 silvertop zetec turbo i found the camshafts were somewhat damaged along with the head due to pollution in the oil i think.
As a matter of course also removed the rods and the crank is also on it's way.

No i can get another crack here from a 1.8, should be the same but can't seem to find e decent 2.0 silvertop head.
Now i was told a 1.8 head will fit fine and the only difference is the combustionchamber is a little smaller.
But what about running the 1.8 camshafts on a little modifies 1.8 head go on this?

Or anyone got a good, complete silvertop head perhaps ??

Thanks.

you can fit the head, but will raise compression ratio, N/A boys do this with the zetecs.
but it will work though.

Thanks,

The chambers can be worked on a little to get the same cr i guess but how do the cams work , better/same or worse then the 2.0 ones?
And are the ports and valves the same size?

I'm pretty sure there isn't much in it but i do know the cams in the 1800 are a bit milder than the 2litre.

depends on what the 1800 head is off, you can use the 130 spec cams from the 2.0 without problems, i'd even say the ports/valves are the same, but you need to get teh 130spec head though, so escort gti really.

The gti didn't run the 130spec 1800- it was a 115ps version in the mk6 models.
130spec 1800 was only fitted in the mk5 xr3i officially.
115ps 1800 has milder cams- the 1800 130spec/2litre cams are one and the same.

1.8 xr3i came as a 105ps and 130ps, only the 130ps version has the cams that are the same the 2litre zetec.
i think the xr2i came with the 115ps cam setup as the 130spec ones where reserved for the fiesta RS1800.

Digging up an old thread. Bit confused by the statement that the RS1800 cams are the same as the 2.0 engine. Are you saying if I increase the capacity of my 130BHP RS1800 to 2.0 it will produce no more power only torque?

Different engines, different CR and so on but yes, increasing the displacement by 2dl won't give that much benefits if you are not doing any other changes at the same time.

If you would put 1.8 head onto 2.0 block, you will get higher CR. Then some other changes (better cams, ITB, good ecu etc.) and it would give easily 180+hp. High CR needs other changes to get some actual benefits (for example engine mapping and better cams).
