I'm told I need a efi rev counter for when I fit cossie management with wasted spark, Can the rev counters be removed from the instrument panel and switched?

eg- efi rev counter into mfi instruments?

Or will I have to fit the full efi clocks set up and is it a straight swap IIRC the fuel and temp gauges were swapped round on some models,i'm unsure which??

Yes, you can just remove the rev counter from a late mk4 EFI car and use that- the whole unit/pod can be taken apart and each instrument can be removed individually.
I have an90spec EFi Xr3i rev counter in my S2 the rest is mfi stuff and it works fine on frst management

 

yeah you can dismantle them, ive just bought a set of clocks for that purpose! you can remove the revcounter as a whole unit or you can remove it from the facia and fit it to your original facia, thats what im doing as the paint is all peeling on the rev counter face i bought.

i know of a set of clocks with lockwood dials on that are efi? i didnt get them though cause i wasnt sure they could be dismantled.

 

I'm still interested in the Cosworth speedo. Anyone done this?
