Reving up and down at idle is normaly your idle mixture out, Amal valve should be plumbed in like this:

damn karlos was in there quick :P lol, as far as the mixture goes mate i would advise taking it to a garage but if u do get brave, or some people would say silly lol. then its located ontop of the metering head, it will either be a long thin tube kinda thing or a screw that you have to remove, once removed u then stick the correct sized allen key in the hole and adjust it, i think its clockwise to lean the mixture and anti to richen, but not 100 percent buddy

lol

Clockwise to Richen, Anti to lean out, try one way 1/4 of a turn at a time if it gets better then great if it gets worse then try the other way!
Just play around until it idles nicely if you dont have a CO Meter, easy mate!

3mm Allen key after removing blanks, arrowed!

i had this once and the auxiliary air device wires had come off. It'd rev up to about 2k then idle and just kept hunting.
