Default series 1 question please read and help

right iam asking for a friend who has a series 1 rs turbo

where to start,
his car has been sitting in the garage for about 5 to 6 years and hasn't moved an inch

i went to look over it this evening as he wants it back up and running

i first looked over all the body work and it needs as follows

front pannel
side of the battery tray to inner wing (around the bonnet hinge)
all 4 floor sections
inner seals
outter seals
rear chassi rails (both sides)
rear pannel
front bumper

and that is with out removing any od the body kit off and really looking into it

it will also need a turbo charger unit
a metreing unit
head gasget
full service and a complete paint in and out

now has anyone been into a series one this far as we would like some sort of ball park figure in cost

i know its hard to tell with out looking at it but any help will be great

watch out that things dont get anal when refitting the car like i did..i was buying nearly every new parts i could find..even when they didnt need replacing..dont dare add up what it cost but i reckon its 10k easy..whatever budget you have i would recommed you keep to it strictly, otherwise it can get out of hand

If you fix it for a hobby, and just count for the parts, it can be fixed for 2000£.

If you have it done by somebody, just don't do it.

There's quite a bit of work but not anything others haven't done before. He'll need some cash though as parts are getting rarer and those around are getting more expensive.
Sounds like he won't need anything to hard to find. Paint and welding labour will be the biggest expenses if he can't do any of them.
