paul rippley ran a 12.9 @ 112 iirc with just shy of 250hp + a 4.9 0-60

luca ran a 12.9 with 126 terminal with 3?? hp it just goes to show its how the car puts the power down im sure luke will be back this year with some faster times the rs turbo boys just cant seem to get the power down like some other fwd make/models

i fancey having ago this year and am currently buying up parts to build a zetec turbo ready for the summer only a 1.8 and a pretty crude spec with a maximum 250hp but will be a slightly higher comp to keep it quicker off boost so will see how that goes i'll be happy with a 13sec and sub 6 0-60

it looks like im gonna be running a 1.8 zt on a t3 turbo with a 8.5-1 comp or there abouts will know at the time of machining basicly wanna use the highest comp i can to make 250hp and a 7200rpm limit i know i'll never be able to make anymore power but then if i want more i'll get something else with the right wheels powered

already have a cts stg 2 box, paddle clutch just, gas golds some sticky tyres but may change for something better on the day and will fit some adjustable wishbones and have the whole thing set up for the day just to make a good time it will be my 1st day on the strip and the tbh i think it will be my last as im not that interested in going fast in a straight line lol

thats the problem with the quarter stuff once you've had a go you'll want more especially as you'll probably be in low 13's with a genuine 250 and then you'll think i could do a little better and so the bug gets you

I was looking through some of the old mag 1/4 mile times and they vary so much. Some of the lower powered cars 250(ish) were pissing over the 300+ guys... all i could think to blame it on was excessive wheel spin.

Thats just it i ran a 14.2 up the pod with 242bhp but just wheel span
Last time i was at the pod i ran a 14.46 which is obviously no where near the above, but thats with 180brake.... but with absolutely no wheel spin (apart from a bit in first),

Again, mate with a cosworth gets i think a 13.6 with 360 brake, met a guy there in a 3door with 280brake and r888's who did a couple of 12 secs dead! he said he just warmed the tyres a shit lot and really launched it lol.

Any one have any time comparisons between good road tyres and r888's?

Cheers

like i said if i wanted faster than a 13 i'd get something with the power going to the correct wheels i like my rst i know its not the fastest car in the world but i like the way i looks im starting to like the way it handles (badly but fun) i had only just got the car last year and was having a boost issue so i didnt run at central day and have had other issues since plus a lack of time for the car but its all getting back on track now so will be running it on the track a fair bit this year (even tho it is a daily driver) the only reason im going zetec route is because my apparent 20k engine is down on compression on cylinder 4

should all be fun im expecting to see some faster times this year from alot of people

To be honest, pretty much every one has stopped developing the mfi, every one will say the same and that is go after market management....... There isn't really any point in spending the money on the mfi when you could spend a small amount more and convert.
