Default S1 Fuel tank

Are the S1 and S2 fuel tanks different? The standard tank i took off of my combi had a metal tube sticking out of it and connected onto the filler neck with a rubber hose,my mate gave me an injection tank and that just has a hole in it with a rubber gromet in,i bought a S1 filler neck hopeing this would solve the problem but thats exactly the same as the one i already have,so do i need to get a proper S1 tank or can i just buy a S2 filler neck instead?

Thanks Lee

S2 filler neck won't work. Tried it once. The whole in the rear wing for filling is of different size mk3/mk4.

Just for reference, the S1 tank is the same as a mk3 XR3i tank or mk1 Orion 1.6i tank. The filler neck for a S1 can be taken also from the mk1 1.6i Orion, but not the XR3i mk3.
