just got my escort efi turbo up and running today its got a 195 chip beige injectors . ive set the fuel pressure to 3.5 bar . the problem is soon as it comes on boost it misfire and splutters like mad . im just wondering what it could be the only thing that hasn't been set is the co . or the chip is 165 on beige injectors as i got the chip of someone on here and they told me it was 195 could this cause the splutter

have you checked the basics? like spark plugs?

 

first thing i done brand new ngk super r plugs . im going to try and drive it from cold tomorrow and if its still the same im going to put blue injectors back in as i think its a 165 chip and ive got beige one,s in so its not getting enough fuel in

If it were a 165 chip with beiges then you would over fuel, have black smoke and maybe even backfire.
Misfiring and spluttering sounds like fuel starvation to me, you sure it's making 3.5bar under load @ WOT?

 

sounds like a fuel cut or something, have you turned the boost pressure down to see if it still does it?
did you buy it as a 195 or 165chip?

 

its at 3,5 bar on idle ive changed back to blues and run with out chip still the same . ive tried new plugs . ive also got some new leads but haven't tried them yet as fooking weather has stopped play the only thing i can think of is the co is miles out . there's no sign of black smoke at rear or over blackness on plugs got the ecu of stembo on here he told me it was a 195 but have tried to run it without beiges still the same

 

up date i think the problem is with the map sensor as im not running it with a suppressor with leaves the yellow and brown wirer that needs to go to the suppressor . ive weird all 3 to the map sensor do i need to leave this disconnected

sounds like you ave wired the map sensor up wrong. and what fuel pump you got cos you will need a better one then a 3i one,

 

std fuel pump it holds 3.5 bar lovely ive checked the map senser wireing today with a diagram on the rs bible web site so must be right

 

ya it holds 3.5 bar but the flow rate isn't enought and you need all three wires to th map sensor
