Question engine out

can someone tell me what is the best way to remove the block an box on rst??im doing it on the drive and the head is alredy off.would it come out from the bottom???? that looks the easy option!as i dont wana lug my engine crane home!!!!!!!!!any help thanks!

well you could dissconnect exhaust and pull that out, then same for gearbox but leave that in place on its mounts and jack up the engine, but put a bit of wood on the jack so u dont damage the sump. then take off completely the top left engine mount and all that would be left to do is to jack up the car and drop the block out.

but IMO i would get an engine lift, would be a whole lot easier.

realisticly (sp) IMO your still gonna need the crane to drop them out of the bottom safely, jack the car as high as you can then lower engine and box together using the crane

So easy to to just lift it out the top with a crane....will take you half hour if it's just the block to come out, undo all the gearbox bolts and the two holding the engine to the mount. Lever the block away from the gearbox and lift it out, job done.
