STOLEN
Just had my Escort RS Turbo stolen from Dundee City centre Saturday night
Red with black chrome 17" wheels Goodrich tyres Reg F823 MTW new engine, new koni's.
Clifford alarm and immobiliser and it's gone
If anyone in Tayside or Fife could keep an eye out please, somehow suspect the local pond life has got it and it will get broken...never been more gutted
Rhys

Thanks for messages of support guys.
It's really starting to sink in now, spent until 2.00 am and started at 7am searching. Nothing, just a horrible feeling that it's going to broken up.
Only had the car since mid December, saved like hell to buy it, at 19 wickedly expensive insurance, spent all my money on it, running nice looking good and some piece of low life thinks they have a greater right to own than me
No broken glass from where it was stolen (found a screwdriver) and with the alarm and immobiliser it still went (Clifford) car definately locked as well...towed away?
Sick, sick, sick

Rhys, di du buy them wheels off grant (if u know grant, J plate S2)?
The more I think about it I've got it down to 2 possibilities, there's no broken glass nearby,
1 It's been towed / trailored away
2 The guy I bought it from has still got an alarm/immob fob...discovered visitors to my work had been asking questions on where the car was from, they "knew it" apparently.
There is a CCTV (private) on a nearby unit to where the car was nicked - hoping it may show what happened.
Also spoken to Tay Road Bridge office; although they won't let me see the CCTV recordings they will review the tape and let me know if my car went South.
Police totally useless, given them fistfull's of phot's and other info...doubt it's being used.
Got a few other irons in the fire...trying to get a contact to the local car theives, very iffy.
Been a sh***y day and not got any where
Keep looking out please guys, cheers

A sad update:
Nothing on CCTV camera near where the car was taken from...I was just out of range and the system was loop recording, so no 24hr coverage.
Tay Road Bridge CCTV, nothing.
Police useless, until my Dad got involved. Really poor intial attitude, as soon as I said alarmed and immobilised they seemed to think I was pulling a fast one.
Got my letter from the police with crime ref No and a contact for any queries...when I rang was told this officer was and has been on sick leave!! Someone has just pushed my case to him to "tidy up" the paperwork. My Dad had a go at them and within 20 mins they were up my house. Despite giving them 10 pics of the car they were unaware of them, no follow up on my request for them to check CCTV (what's written above is a result of my legwork) No follow up on suspicious activity seen outside a "valeting" business...managed to sneak a look in on Sunday full of cars, engines, gearboxes, wheels. Couldn't see in all the building.
Police...spectacularly useless.
I've spent hours and hours travelling around Dundee, the not so nice parts, looking for any trace...plenty of suspicious places but nothing.
There has been a steady trade in stolen cars and parts in Dundee, all within a certain area, getting the police to acknowledge what is "common knowledge" is a waste of time.
Looks very much as though I'm not going to see the car again - well not complete.
Not entirely convinced that these Cliford alarms ad immobilisers are totally effective...info that I have picked up (won't post exactly what on a public forum) seems to indicate they can be easily bypassed, due to the RST's relatively simple wiring system.
I would suggest you use some sort of visible deterrent ie steering locks (disclock), gear lever locks and park in highly visible/ CCTV protected areas. Though if they want your car the determined pro's will have it away.
I know some of you will have experienced what I'm feeling, for the majority of you that still have your pride and joy, PLEASE take note of my comments on taking extra precautions; I feel totally devastated...it's lousy, don't be the next victim.

Am really gutted for ya man. I will keep ma eyes peeled for it. What was the spec of the car? It must be gut wrenching to have it happen, especially when the polis are hopeless! Keep on at them to look for it.

Thanks Chick, every pair of eyes are appreciated.
As a result of my Dad's "having a go" at the police, I was pleased to see a Scottish newspaper (Courier) giving the theft a good write up, good description and picture...not buried away with other 1 line accounts of "pond life" activities; excellent exposure.
Without sounding ungrateful, wonder if it may have a negative effect? Car is too hot and they'll torch it? Or is it me being paranoid?
Managed to let it be known that a reward would be offered....got 2 names now, I don't know them but they must be known to police...as well as wanting my car back I (and some others) want who ever is involved.
Spec:
Koni's allround with Eibach springs less than a week old.
New engine, block coated with a red oxide colour enamel
Polished charge carrier with a tapped brass fitting for ACT gauge
Blue Samco boost pipes
Red powder coated rocker box cover
New injectors a week old
Body work standard, small dent in front left hand corner of bonnet
Paint chipped on left hand front wheel arch
Immac standard interior
Red / black leather Italavanti steering wheel
3 gauges fitted in lower central console - boost, water temp, oil press
ACT gauge LCD (green) in center air vents
Alpine CD head unit
Windows etched
AVA stickers (black) on boot lid and side windows
Paint immaculate red...very shiny, pretty much standard with no cosmetic mods
Red calipers and drums, slotted front discs
I have pics of engine bay and interior.
Cheers, Rhys

I could cry for yer mate, I know wot you are feeling, bastards! Sorry mate, but don't bank your hopes to high, mine was stripped and it didn't have a high spec like yours. The boyz will all keep a sharp eye out no doubt, and I hope the C--TS who had it away die, the bastards! Some mother fu--er knows where it is, don't give up even if the outcome turns out for the worst, hope it don't though mate. If I didn't live so far away I would help you out looking for it. The BASTARDS, Base Ball Bat jobby!

Chick and R4S..Thanks
It may have been spotted in Tayport on Tuesday...f*****g Dundee police cocked that up, spent some time with Cupar police last night and picked up that snippet.
2 names and 1 area starting to get mentioned a lot...police seem unwilling to act without proof ...FFS.
Couple of other "theories" being looked (by me not the police) Can't sit back and do nothing
Eyes and ears peeled please guys...any scrap, no matter how small, of info will be used
As ever all your messages of support are much appreciated
Rhys

If its any help lads,
If your attending a big show - PF meet, PM me with your reg number, and the number of peices of glass on your car
i.e
RST - 6
Saff - 6
i can print off templates, and acid etch your reg/chassis numbers on your glass for you, cost is £5 per car (to cover the chemicals)
