this is how far the valve comes out.

the inlet valves

they might be out about 1mm maybe notthing more then that!
its got a piper t2 cam in it.

If thats how far they come out when at full lift then something is very wrong!! Sound like you have munched a cam

remove the cam time and check lobes with a digital vernier but sure that much wear you will notice or on the other hand when you measured the fulllift from valve side was there more carbon build up on those with the lower reading
