Got to redo mine today, second time lucky. This time I'm just going to nip the screws up and thread lock them, as doing them to the correct toque seem to be to much.

I done mine last week, I followed the instructions in the cvh haynes book and so far its ok. When torqueing them for the second stage (same nm) it did seem to be squishing the seal more than I would have liked. Time will tell.

I did 3 in a month it had me questioning my ability as I'd never had one leak after i replaced it, the first 2 were cheap motorfactors type and the first one leaked gearbox end, the second split along the bolt hole, i got a payen one off ebay as the third which actually sealed, i fitted it by running a bead of sealant in the half moons on the block then a very thin smear of sealant both sides of the gasket, located the gasket in the block half moons and lined it up with the bolt holes, offered the sump up put a couple of bolts in fastened the bolts from the centre out wards I did them up with a screwdriver attachment so it didn't over torque the gasket I did use threadlock on the bolts, only done 150 miles on it but there's no evidence of any weep

did mine 1st time been on a year and 5k miles and no leaks, i did it over 4 days, brand new sump and gasket, loctite gasket maker, new nuts and blots holding it on while it dried overnight, razor blade the block and degreaser, gasket maker on other side of rubber gasket offered to sump and blots tightened in accordance to haynes manual similar to head gasket working way round and doing with a socket in hand so not to over tighten next night socket on a screw driver and tightened slightly more and that was it job done
