Just got back from a blat out in the scort and it has developed huge ammount of wobble under breaking. has always been slightly wobbly but its got crazy
light or heavy breaking , doesnt matter so long as its faster than 50mph??? tried slaming the anchors at 70 and it threw the wheel out of my hands it was that bad?? :s

im thinking warped discs purhaps? anyone think of anything else it may be?

yeah i thought that might be the case, i just wasnt sure if there was anything that can cause it. I guess these mk4 escorts are pretty simple tho!

cheack your rear wheel bearings are not loose, belieave me if they are you will get all the front end problems you are having, i know iv been there, changed every thing under the front, cost a fortune, in the end it was a loose rear wheel bearing, unbelieavable!!

Thats actually a really good point, I had the same thing! Just needed adjusting up a bit

as above check bearings and if not replace discs 10 minute job

If your discs are warped then any vibration will be amplified through the steering column if there is any wear in the bearings/bushes.
