Default My First EscRsturbo

Hi all I'm new the forum.
Only had my Rs since last Friday, had one prob so far, more bad luck i think. Fuel relay switch when on the day i got it after 215miles with it.
But fix it within 3day for £6.50 ( good to work where i do).
There is a few thing i want to do to her.
1, Raise the ride hight as she sit about 40mm, want to bring it up to 30mm.
Dose anyone know the best springs to use? Iv got Koni adjusterable dampener.

2, Change the disc and pads, got escort cossie front and staf 2wd rear.
Anyideas?

3, I like to fit some 3 point harness for the driver and passanger, where is the best place to bolt them to, dont mine bout not using the back seats (she's a two seater!lol) also what a good make and model to look for, needs to be semi peractal as use as a daily drive.

4, Can a HID light for it as after a drive in my mate pug 306 gti6 at night and i love them. how much and where from?

And a few lil bugs, lil the interor light doesnt come on when drivers door opens, there in no warning tone when lights are left on. Any ideas?

Thanks All XXX

2. Theres a sticky on this thread.Been looking on doin same to mine but cant find any for a decent price.

4. Universal kit should work.Need to do a bit of drilling i believe.

Interior light prob is probably dodgy pin switch on drivers side if it works when u switch it normally.
Also i havent got a warning tone when my lights are on anyway, not sure bout everyone else.

Havent got answers for the others, soz.

Theres no buzz if you leave the lights on anyway, wasnt on the car at the time.

try pushing the drivers side courtesy light switch a few times by hand, if it dont work, remove the switch and pull out, check the plug behind the switch isnt rusted, clean it if so.

koni adjustibles, just change the height by using the key that comes with the kit.

Yes you can get HID light kit for the car, someone on here has done it.

3 point harnesses, i got sparco on mine. you need to mount as followdrivers seat)

point 1. this goes to the seat belt lower bracket which runs from the rear passengers footwell(long black bar which seat belt is looped onto)
use the bolt hole provided.

point 2. this goes through the recaro seat head rest and seat itself.
pull the rear seat bench upwards and climb over the seat. you will see many bolts and brackets. use one that is roughly straight behind the drivers seat.

point 3. This goes to the front seat belt point in the middle of the car. unbolt the seat belt point and remove it, simply bolt the harness UNDER THE SEAT BELT POINT. the bolt is long enough for all 3 points to be used.

passengers side is the same as above, but point 1 & 3 are different, use point 1 for the centre seat belt point and point 3 for the black bracket in the rear footwell.

Hello Munkeyboyrs

1) I have H&R -25/-25mm spring kit+koni yellow adjustables in my escort rs turbo and it is nice to drive and it sits in reasonable high (You can put jack under it and not touching any bumps in the street when driving in bad condition roads) and i think it looks okay. You can look some pictures here: http://s186.photobucket.com/albums/x88/Antti_O/RST/
H&R is very good quality brand and most sports car use it in standard springs, i ordered springs from Germany www.fahrwerkebilliger.de You have to know some words german but babelfish helps. Springs are under tiefederlungsfedern or somethin. I think -25mm lowering is the max which you can use in rs turbo without losing cornering and handling (which arent so good at all)

2) I think good patten discs and ebc greenstuff pads or ferodo ds2500 pads will do the job nice. I have ebc greenstuff pads in rst std brakes and i works nice.

4) Think twice about installing HID conversion set. I had one in my 328i Beemer and i get those lights properly angled by professional mechanic but still when i watchin my girlfriend drove car i see how badly those glare drivers who come from the opposite direction ( my english is not good but try to understand.) If you have projector headlights which most new cars have you can try HID conversion, but like escort mk4 has old style H4 front beams i think you should stay in halogen. And rst is 80´s car, xenon dont belong there.

Cheers

Antti-Ville from Finland
