Default what do i do.... some help please

hi there people.... could do with some good advice

just rebuilt my s2 erst

rebore 0.5 oversized mahle pistons
crank was polished new shells
stage 2 head
and a new stage 2 t3 from cr turbos

so basically ive got gotech engine managment and the engine is going back in the car next week.

im a bit confused on what to do next as its basically a brand new engine do i take it straight to the rollers (jamsport) and get it setup or do i run the engine in for a bit

im scared that if i take it up to them to get it remapped before running it in and they ragg it that it will blow straight away help please

I'd run it in before I got it setup, until the piston rings bed in your compression will be down slightly! If you have it setup now and the the compression raises after the rings bed in you might get detonation and ruin those nice new shiny pistons and or your new head.
I dont know how likely this is but just a thought mate....

Yes mate, just get some miles on it. Dont go over 3k and warm it up and let it cool down well. then you will be ready for it to be setup,

Do 500miles, change oil & filter, same again @ 1000, when you get to 1500 drop the oil & filter out again then put some top quality lube in there then get it setup. Just take it very steady and dont take the revs above 3-3.5k if you can help it.

Yes that is what i always use, never had a problem at all, its good stuff (millers). Never use anything more than mineral while running-in as you will prevent the rings etc bedding i and your engine will never perform as it should. (blowby/oil consuption)

ok thanks for the help guys really ppreciate it

but just clarify drive under 3k for 500 miles on millers oil and then change the filoter and oil.

and then do the same for another 500 on millers change the oil and filter

and then would it be ready for a setup in jamsport after a 1000 miles

ive also chanhged the turbo to a stage 2 t3 will this effect the running in?

Yes, some people say setup @ 1000 miles but i have always let it run for another 500 miles to 1.5k,always think its worth it having shelled out for a new engine.

You can drive it but keep the boost down (i always set it back to the std 8psi). If you can get the CO checked and adjusted so it is not terrible then you will be just fine.

If you're putting a new turbo on as well you might want to get an inline filter before the turbo especially as you're running in.

Just a small oil filter to go before the turbo, something like this ...

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=ROAD&pcode=BAITOF31

just think all those parts are going to wear and all that contaminated oil is then going to go through your nice new turbo! I'd definitely get a magnet sump plug to.

some great advice there, but if it's overfuelling you'll suffer bore wash and ruin the bores/rings.
get it over to a tuners and get them to set fuelling for low load and drive it gently for a bit, then get it mapped for full power.
