Default how do i change a fan from a sucker to a blower?

got a couple of spal style fans and wanted to run one as a blower on my rad and one as a sucker on my front mount, is it as simple as swapping the pos and neg over to reverse the direction of fans?

thanks

As above yes.I put spals on mine and connected them the wrong way, sucking not blowing.Engine started to over heat.A quick change round on the pos + neg and it was all sorted.

Yep. Simple as that in theory. Fans do have the blade angled a certain way though, so if they are sucker fans, and you swap the terminals to make them blowers the blades wont be as good as a proper blower fan but will do that same thing.

Just make sure the blower is mounted bumper side and the sucker engine side.

Yep, far less efficient when spinning the wrong way.

hhmmm sadly cant fit it on the bayside of rad to suck cuz ive got no room. just looked at the fan and the blades are quite angled, which isnt what i wanted to see. guess il just have to see how it pans out.

im sure the answer is no or not much, but...will the sucker on the inside of the front mount push a fair bit of air out as its sucking and pass some cold air onto the right hand side of my rad which doesnt have a fan on, thus making it like i have one and a quarter fans on my rad theyre quite close together which is why i ask

tiff lee - lol if he was a mate i hope you gave him a slap

orion crazy carl - i just said spal as in spal style slim line ones. theyre no names. im guessing your saying they might not work as blowers because of the angle on the fan blades?

just had a play with one of the fans and ive been able to fip the blade unit over so that the blades are shaped the correct way to blow. then just need to swap the pos and neg over and ive reversed it all properly to be a blower.
had to file abit off the front guard as the blades were catching, so should be all good now
