stops great with the cossie stuff all round but i'd go with a better caliper on the front. the only real negative is that it pushes your rear wheels out by around 10mm so depending on your wheel package can cause rubbing issues

If your looking at buying the kit from burton its exspensive. If u buy it all on its own works out cheaper. But if your gonna fit it then make sure you fit a bias valve to stop you arse overtakin you!! lol

The drums are quite up to the task at hand. Changing to rear discs often leaves you with an over braked back which can be like yanking the handbrake in an emergency braking situation.

your better off using XR4i disc's(253mm) and then either XR4i or cossie 2wd calipers(their the same thing)! with this set up you wont get a hint of the rears overpowering the fronts and the car swapping ends!!
Dont use cossie 4x4 vented disc's and calipers or it will want to swap end's under heavy braking!!

lets face it, a majority of people do the conversion more for the looks, and the fact it brings the old methods used on the rear up to date
i can honestly say i have a 4x4 cossie rear set up for mine, and im under no illusion that its pointless performance wise if it has to be wound in using a bias valve in order to bring it down to a level more suited to whatever the front setup is capable of. but mine came for free, and i figure it will look nice, so why not
lol
lots of opinions out there on rear disc conversions and bias valves and such, lots of people think shouting and using exclaimation marks makes their theory and method correct aswel
depends what u want them for, what u wana spend, and who u choose to listen to

You pays your money and makes your choice, personally I hate to see people part with cash for shiny stuff they just don't need.

i suppose it would also be interesting to see how many people switch to big wheels when they could actually get away with 15s to cover their brake set up, after all they are just shiny and sometimes unnecessary, and just cost u more in tyres...
but again, most people do that for looks, and then the minority do it for a performance necessity
lots of people dont NEED to do conversions like this other than to look pretty, but plenty still WANT to do it

so ppl just get the disk conversion for the looks at the end of the day. seem to me its just creating more probs n hassel setting them up to work ryt. n dont like da sound off ma back end coming round under hard braking.

God why do you always have to argue about it. If someone wants to fit discs let them, no need to argue to tos about it. I pleased for u both that your still using drums but ive gone for discs and ive never had a problem with them.

I have a mate with a 400bhp+ FRST and that is still runnning it's drums. Been out in a it a few times and it still manages to stop like you've hit a wall. It's one of th efew cars I've been in that genuinely scares mme with it's pace

He asked what the pro's and cons were and whether it was worth it. I've given him the best advice I can gained from 15 years of experience with RST's. End of the day I hate to see people part with money for kit they just simply do not need.
You have discs on the rear and are happy, I'm happy for you. It's not a witch hunt. Merely trying to ensure the guy gets the right advice.

Not in the slightest. People are on here to flex their car knowledge and tell you how to modify YOUR car. If you have any questions about converting your rear brakes ask away, you will be met with a barrage of people taking the piss cos you dont know how to do it, or they think its a waste of time. lol
