Default Lightweight panels

Okay then gents, whats the script regarding lightweight panels for our escorts? What panels are available, who from, whats the quality like? I definately need a new tailgate as rust has suddenly appeared around the rear window seal so thats heading for the scrap heap. I dont actually need to use the tailgate as theres nothing at all in the back of the car so the mounting of a fibre glass / kevlar / carbon fibre bootlid shouldnt be too much of an issue. Does anyone make doors? Has anybody had any on their cars for a decent length of time to give an idea on longivity (sp?) of them. Any info appreciated

so far i have carbon bonnet and fibreglass boot and spoiler

my roof is out of the mould but i wont be fitting for a while

im also after carbon doors and wings

smith and deakin do all the above in fibreglass, the fit is not very good. my tailgate was from them and then modded to fit

i have had fibreglass bonnets from everyone and threw them all away, was very poor

all my stuff is for a mk3 escort but im sure smith and deakin do mk4 aswell

was going to put fao gus but felt that was cheeky so cheers for that matey. Is the roof a replacement or skin? Touch wood my roof seems ok around the sunroof but when (not IF) it does go it would be nice to know theres a different road to go down. Was the boot a lot of work to get to fit, I have pals in the bodyshop game so Im hoping it wouldnt be too much a job for them.

the roof is from carbon delight and you can have either

mine will be a complete replacement

the tailgate was a bit of mare really, there was no way of attaching the hinges (suited me as i was gonna use dzus fastners) the edges of tailgate were un even so needed straightening to make an equal gap all the way round

guess if your mates do it day in day out it will be no biggee for them

Has anyone looked into or got a carbon bootlid for an rst?? Seen them for a saph, surely would be much more sturdy....
