Symptoms of a worn cam?
My car now runs perfect, no smoke or nowt
When I'm getting towards the higher revs it seems to make a tapping/ rattle sound, but only at high revs ('bout 5000 rpm), this goes as soon as the revs drop tho. I'm thinking worn tappets but there only about 6 months old and have done less than 1000 miles, was also thinking the cam may be worn??? is there any way to check the cam without removing it?

Nope, will have to take it out and meassure the lobes with a vernier. Unless it's really bad and then you'll see the lifter bottoms all split like the head of a chisle
Easy job though mate cam and lifters will come out with the head on, 1 hour tops! Can even reuse the rocker cover gasket if it's a genuine Ford one and hasnt been overtightened

We removed the tappets and checked them when we done the valve stem seals and they still looked mint thats why I'm thinking it might be the cam
