Default problems.. again. intermittent cutting out.

i swear these damm cars do my head in.

every few weeks or so when i'm sitting in traffic the car will just die. no warning, no hesitating, backfiring, loss of power, it just dies. then it wont start again until its given a bump start, jump starts dont work. i've really no idea what it is. i've checked all the earths and cleaned them all up and it was fine again for a few weeks. this it the fourth time its happened now and its just getting to the stage where i cant use the car everyday, its gonna have to go.
fucking cars

have no idea mate, really have no idea. how could i check that?

i should also say about how iot acts once its cut out. it seems electrical as the car sometimes wont turn over it will just click, but then it will turn over slowly a few times. i thought starter but why would it cut out in the first place?

Just turn the idle mixutre screw 1/4 of a turn clockwise and see how it behaves after that, if it's no different or worse try 1/4 of a turn anti-clockwise (from original position, so turn 1/2 anti-clockwise from where it would be now) could be thats it's a bit rich at idle and choking itself.
