Default intercooler

a bit of advice please....

the original intercooler on me S1 is a bit fooked, bowed out all over the place.
i am thinking of putting a long universal one under the front bumper...
is this a good idea or is it best to try find a original shape one?

(bloody page, just deleted my reply1!)
second time lucky:
i have a universal one on my mk2 fiesta (700*200mm) and keeps it very cool running near 200bhp, i predict it'll be fine for around 300bhp without problems.
the only problem with a front mount universal one is that it'll be more laggy due to extra pipe length and you'll need to sort out a reverse charge carrier as the pipes will come out on the other side of the engine.
