Default over-boosting problems

hi guys i have just got my series 2 out of the garage its had a full low comp re build.
I was stuck at a roundabout on the way home a couldnt get out so needed to put my foot down to get out, it seemed a bit quicker and when i looked down and it was past 1.5 bar and still going so i backed off (as it was set to 1.2 before) and every time it came on boost it went past 1.2 i assume that it would keep on climbing in boost and that there is something wrong with the acturator so i didnt drive on boost anymore.
Any ideas?? as i dont want to blow my new engine and cant afford a setup until next month and need the car for work.

If I were you i'd wind the actuator right out as far as it will go (leaving just enough tension so that the wastegate wont flap around) and close any bleed valve you might have!!
Better to be safe than sorry

ooooft 1.5bar on a fresh build, why did u keep doing it thats what puzzles me
anyway the revs shouldnt be high and u should be keepin it off boost for a few hundreds miles anyway so whether the bleed valve is open or shut u shouldnt be drivin it hard enough to be boosting, closing it over isnt an excuse to boot it and think its safe, running in period is crucial if your engine is to survive in the future

its run in already, a mate run it in on his bed. i didnt keep doing it i done it once when i pulled off to get out as the rounabout was packed and was ther for ages (thats when i saw the boost go up id been below 3k for 4miles before that on the A13)then once straight after to be sure that it was creeping up and it wasnt a "one off".
i understand about the running it in and i bealry hit 4k when i pulled off. so i wasnt booting it i just pulled of enough for the boost to come (im not a boy racer and dont want to blow my new engine up).
