Hello, i have just bought a s2 1989 escort rs turbo and am having some annoying problems with the rear lights, wen i put sidelights on, both back sidelights come on but the back indicators are permanantly on and then when i put indicators on both back indicators flash back and fourth from sidelight to indicator and both front indicators flash aswell, also when i put foot on brake the fog light button lights up. i have bought a pair of new rear bulb holders and have put all new rear spade connections and put heat shrink tubing round them so they dont touch one another and am still having same problem, can anybody post up some pics of there backlight connections so i can check mine are deffo right using a wiring diagram but not sure if its right, any help would be greatly appreciated as i really wanna get it fixed so i can drive. cheers

you need rear bulb holders mate and the black plugs you can still get from fords

Sounds to me like the all to common bad earth problem mate! Check all your earths!

right i have fitted new bulb holders and connections stil no luck, have cleaned up a few of the earths, how many are there in total and where abouts are they, cheers.

earths are behind the low bay trim that in the boot left & right sides mate

right i have cleaned up the earth thats bolted to the inner wing passenger side in boot and checked the other side and cannot see one should there be one bolted to other side , only brown wire which i think is earth ,leads to number plate light. really frustrating. cheers for replys so far guys.
