Default Breather filter fitted on the rocker cover

I have fitted a breather filter on my rocker cover. Now I have got a new problem in my car. The hole car smells old oil from the breather filter. It smells awful inside the car and also outside the car. When I have parked the car in a parking spot, people turn around and lookes at me and my car.

You guys that also got a breather filter fitted on the cover, do you have the same problem?

Yup!
Thats the problem with venting crank case pressure to atmosphere!

Why not fit a bailey breather kit & vent to a catch tank instead?
Should overcome the smell, and improve breathing.

they work by collecting the oil passed through the breather hole and re-circulating it back down to your sump- they will also require a filter of some sort but will not smell half as much if at all

What is it you've put on there? is it a oil seperator? Thats what i have and 2 pipes from the rocker go to it, the other goes down to the metering unit then the other goes down to the bottom of the block for the oil return, oh and then a vacuum pipe goin from the oil seperator to the left outlet on the inlet manifold.

Yes mate mine smells too!
I am using the bailey breather/seperator kit but instead of sending the oily air back to the metering unit it vents to atmosphere, hence the smell!

no, as the oil can cause det for one, it's legal emissions requirement though. You should have a seperator, and then vent this with a pipe to the back of the car.
