how does timing strobe work?

Basically, You clip the strobe light onto No1 plug lead and with the engine running (Vacuum hose to ECU disconected), point the gun towards the bottom pulley which has white paint in the little "V" notch and the notch on the cover which is at 12 degrees. (the light replicates the spark plug sparking)
If your timing is set correctly, when the strobe flashes, the two white marks should appear in-line with one-another, if not rotating the dizzy slighlty either way should line them up. It sounds complicated but when you actually do it its a piece of piss!

I THINK AARONCAST IS WELL OUT OF ORDER!! BEEN LOOKING AT HIS OTHER REPLIES AND THE MAN IS OBVIOUSLY A TWAT! I ONLY JOINED LAST WEEK AND ALREADY BEEN INTRODUCED TO THE VILLAGE IDIOT! WELL SUPPOSE EVERY FORUMS GOT ONE!!!
