Default Coolant Sensor

Probably should be in wanted parts section, but still after advice. I definitely think my engine is not from an 88 sec S2...............

Not only do i not have anywhere to put my knock sensor (early inlet manifold), but i also have nowhere to put my coolant sensor, the one that would screw into one of the coolant pipes at the back of the inlet manifold.

So, what implications will not having the coolant sensor plugged in do to the car? (the plug and sensor itself are just hanging there)

The car runs ok, cools down fine, fans work etc, only issue is idles high so im guessing the ECU doesnt know when the engine is warm.

I dont know what this metal piece is called that the sensor screws into, and its such a silly little part, does any one have one laying around or somewhere they could easily get one from??

hi, i have just the part you need mate, its like a metal piece round the back of the inlet with a coolant sensor in it (same plug fitting as charge air sensor) and has a water pipe fit either end, correct? i also have a complete inlet manifold (series2) with the other water temp sensor in aswell,on ebay. if you buy the manifold il throw in that part you need aswell?

I would but that will be 23 quid just for that little bit i need. Not fused about the knock sensor. If you list that little part i need, happily pay £5 for it?? Then just pop it in an envelope and bobs your uncle!!

Think it controls the cold start injector, opens/closes it based on the water temp.
