Default starter motor heatshield

where can i buy one from as mine heats up big time and wont start until cooled down cheers in advance

didnt even know you could get starter motor heatshields mines never had one lol!

there are two types! You want the one that clips to the turbo oil return pipe, the one that clips over the starter itself is seriously not worth bothering with!

yeah mine had 1 of them was told there factory fit bit rare now most have been binned

you need to get a LUCUS LRS788 or cross reference that to another make,they are geared and you wont get the hot start problem like the old type starter there a waste of time! had mine off ebay.

the one in the ebay link is not the one you want!! you need the one that clips onto the turbo oil return pipe and they are still available from Ford!!

as additction said dont buy the one in the link as they fit underneath the starter to protect it from the downpipe and it isnt really needed, go to ford and ask for the heat shield which clips onto the the oil return pipe and sits between the turbo and starter motor

i will go to my local ford garage tomorrow and get one sorted cheers but if i cant get 1 from them where else can i purchase one

I wouldnt bother going to Ford or ebay looking for a rare and probally hard to get heat shield.Why not just heat wrap the down pipe and the starter.Easy to get and easy to do.Regards,Micky
