Default radiator problems

i have been told by my local garage that my rad has a small hole in it so i have used rad weld for the time being, but i have looked at a new 1 from pro alloy to match my intercooler. i was just wondering if an uprated 1 would give any more advantage than a standard 1? suppose it would just be cooling advantages, am i right in saying that?
any help woul be grateful!!
