Default Strange behaviour

Car runs fine, bit lumpy when cold, fuel pump does seem noisy.

Prob is run it and try and start it ten minutes later and doesn't want to know (unless jumped and turned over loads) But leave it for a couple of hours and she starts on the button ?

Has had a new battery, and even though when not wanting to start, windows stereo etc all work which suggests not power prob, anyone shed any light ?

is it a series 1 or 2?
if series 1 common problem, change the fuel pressure regulator to the series 2 type!
if its a series2 then where do you start? fuelling, ignition,

Heat getting to the starter sounds poosible as it tends to do it when car is warm, and wont start for an hour or so, ie cooled down.

Does this mean new starter or some heatwrap/shield somewhere ?
