Default Hmmm, not to sure about this one.

Well following my bonnet flipping up accident, the car is now fully repaired and currently getting the head done. I went to look at the car today and being a very sunny day i was delighted it was finally done and i could see the finished result.

When i got there i was instantly dissapointed. The resprayed parts looked clouded, with swirls in when looked at very carefully. The colour match was perfect but this was bugging me. So i found the guy and asked him why it was there. He told me it was caused by the buffering machine / polish and once i wax washed the car and autoglym'd it, it would look perfect.

Do i take his word and pay him, or does it need to be sorted ?

Sounds about right what he said, but he should have done it before giving it back to you! Unless he's waiting for the paint to fully harden than he should have at least told you it would be like it and to bring it back in a couple of weeks to be buffed up.

So if I understand right he has taken a machine and polished the new coat of paint?

First of all when he's a good spray painter there's no real need to polish a new coat. But it can be done to correct some flaws or to enhance the look of an already nice looking coat.
But after polishing no signs of error must be visible in my opinion.

Get him to sort it out before handing over your money if you don't like the result!
