ive put a full s1 rs turbo & box into my xr3 shell but the 5th gear bulge at the breather end of the gear box is hard against the chassis leg,

does it have to be cut out for a 5 speed like the mk1 fiesta??

all the mounts are bolted on correctly!

the box is a s2 bell housing with a s1 centre section for the mk3 gearbox mount,

are the s2 bell housings bigger???

Hi Mate i had two xr3 three's going back over 10 years both x reg.One had a four speed box and one had a five speed the chassis was different it seemed to had an extra "step" in the chassis of the five speed.If i remember ford changed them in june"82 to five speed which was the reason for the changes.Hope this helps
