my escort has started to misfire, only seems to happen at 60 and upwards. duno how to reali explain it but, it starts cough and splutter, i can feel it tryin to pull but i wont go.

it did it 2day on my way to work and it back fired and i lost all power!!!!

know ive jst bin to shop and it cut out wit out the back fire!!!!! all i notice was jst before it happend the revs drop form 3k to 0 then straight bk

 

could be any thing mate, its just a case of elimination it maybe ignition or fuel related which side you start is down to you, if it pops then cuts out maybe a fuel fault check fuel pump voltage and see if it makes any funny noises like buzzing real loud they should not be overly loud then go on to metering head look in the air chamber under the filter make sure there is no fuel in there if all seems good check spark plugs, leads etc and the heated seat fuse if still no good give us a reply.

check your not leaking boost from somewhere
do u have a boot gauge?whats it showing

 

its got a hearts and diamond ecu on it and it boosts at 10

 

step bros s1 done this turned out to be the little black supressor thing next to the coil in the wiring loom try another one xr3i one should be the same?
