Default flat battery

why has my battery started to drain. it is 100 percent the battery because i have put another one on and it still goes flat over night.my cental locking is de locked and when i press the key to close the doors it opens and closes 2 or 3 times is this the problem or somthing to do with it. i know its a matter of elimination but where would you start looking first. to eliminate the door factor which relays are to do with the central locking so i can remove them to try this first.any info would be much appreciated.
cheers

I would start bu seeking the help of an auto electrician, or friend who can do a current drain test. to establish how much current is being drawn for the battery when it is all locked up? it could well be something to do with the Central locking, ore it could be something as simple like the boot light stying on. i have recently fixed a problem with a mates car that had the same sort of problem. it turned out to be a problem with the immobilizer tat had been installed incorrectly. when the immobilizer armed to made the engine management live...... and would flatten the battery over a few days, even with a trickle charger fitted... and it had been like that for a couple or years....

good luck

Steve

also make sure ya boot light aint staying on!!if u got a multi meter, lock it up,stick it across the battery, see how many volts/amp are showing/being drawn, take a fuse out one at a time, see if the amp/voltage use goes up,should then be able to locate where its going!!
