Default signs that its the stem seals causing smoke?

just swapped my engine for another due to broken conrod. but now its running theres quite a bit of light blue smoke thats comming out of my exhaust but not all the time mainly when you just touch the accelerator it does clear but then when i stop at the lights it normally comes back.
any thaughts. cheers

my cossie does simular been told its the valve guides
does it if you nail it then brake quickly and sit at a set of lights im just waiting for the engine to go pop or something serious to happen then get mine done

when the car has been turned off for a while and then restarted does it cloud out then?

it does it if your just cruising up to the lights, my old engine just smoked on start up and that wasnt for that long. but this volume of smoke gets embarassing. cheers

just change the valve stems not hard to do the you can eliminate them!

its done about 60 mile since Ive got it back running, so havent had much time to stand.
a mechanic my mate knows says that you can change the stem seals with out taking the head off?

i believe theres a tool to compress the springs and remove parts and they are accessible then. also check to see if there is play in the shaft of your turbo?

thats what he had said about it, must be how they do it. the turbo is the same one off the old engine and it was ok on that one (it's pretty new)

you should be alright after the stem seals then cause if its rings they normally smoke all the time good luck....

yeah you can do the stem seals with out taking the head off, but make sure which valves you are doin that piston needs to be a tdc or the valve will fall onto the cylinder!

gutted I've been skanked with this engine. had the stem seals done and its no better and smoking pretty much all the time.

Think I might just go with my original idea and get that loan through 1.9 tall block for the torque aspect is a strong possibility as not keen on the zvh idea.
was well keen for specialised engines to sort this but ive notice some bad things written about them?

any suggestions and how much? what would you do? cheers Kev ps diamond cut alloys
ending in 2 hours on ebay.
