i had my gearbox rebuilt 1200miles ago coz the bearings were shot.
had new main shaft and new bearings seals and gaskets.
all looked good inside i was told as its only done 60k miles.
its been perfect until yesterday.
i was in second gear slowing down, i then turned right at a junction quite fast but not at high revs just high corner speed.
i then sped up a bit and went for 3rd and it wasnt there!
nor was 4th 5th or reverse!
it was jammed up.
i only had 1st and 2nd gears!!
i took the linkage off and wiggle the shaft vigerously and managed to force it into 3rd and 4th but its so hard to get accross from 2nd to 3rd!
whats going on?
my dad said it could be to do with something coming undone behinde the metal plate on the end of the box?!?!

The fifth/reverse shaft might have turned. Also the brass selectors often wear down. First symptom is often a ghost gear between third and fifth.
