Default misfiring s2

im posting this for a mate who is rapidly losing his faith in fords please help
he has a late model 91 on a h plate with the hearts and diamond ecu
the original head gasket failed at 102000 miles after repair carried out it has misfired at part throttle since we have changed the fuel pump, leads, plugs, dizzy cap rotor arm and fuel metering head
checked all the wiring for continuity and checked the various relays without any joy,we also replaced the coolant temp and thermotime sensors i
if we disconnect the pressure actuator on the metering head the car will run without misfire throughout the rev range i under stand this is for fuel enrichment at higher revs running like this it smells very rich as if overfueling
we have set up the timing and co levels in accordance with the haynes manual
any help greatly appreciated as my mate is beginning to cheese me off

Not nesisarily! If the metering unit is causing the car to run lean down low then that will cause a missfire!

Have you checked the amal valve and coil terminals? Mine did this and it was the amal valve connector.

the amal valve doesnt appear to be working at all
i understand that if you blow into the vacuum tube to the ecu
the amal valve should work
is this true???
