on xmas eve my bottom end went, so im in the process of fixing that what i wanna know is why was the oil light flashing comeing on and off???

was it because of the oil pump?

same thing happened to me, was flashing when warm mostly, then when goin down the motorway, knock knock who's there two shells fooked on the con rods and one well bugered crank, this was on my plans on the to do list then it was too late

could be a faulty dash light sender, or wiring.

but if your bottom went after, then will be a oil pressure issue.

mines nealry back on the road now, just need to sort the brakes, and a set up, got a nice new engine built using what i wanted from my engine which was the block lol, its soo close its annoying its just finding the time to sort the last little bits, and getting it trailored to be set up

normally the oil light flickers on idle and goes out when out rev it normally means you losing pressure,either thru the shells or a weak oil pump,or a blocked strainer

the same thing happened to me coming back from donnigton ford spares day last year now. just bought a bottom end yesterday hopefully should be all working again very soon (hopefully).
