LIGHTS ON WHEN BRAKING?????
Can anybody tell me why my car has started playing up? since last week, everytime i put my foot on the brake, the headlights come on, could this be an earth problem or yet another wiring loom fault in a mk4 escort?? thanks

I had this in my MK4 and the cause was (I wrote it down) a bulb somewhere on the car has blown.

Its either a bad earth or if you replaced a brake bulb then this is the problem, you have fitted it incorrectly or its the wrong bulb.

Bad earth for sure. Had the same problem. Look at the contact plate of one of you back lights. You find the problem there.
