u can put an xr3i 5th cog in a erst gearbox and will will have higher top speed?

RST has a 0.76 ratio for fifth gear. Don't know if any Escort has a lower one, but a higher one of 0.83 at least exists.

bread: the final drive ratio of a series 1 box is 4.27:1 opposed to an xr3i box which is 4.29:1. the final drive ratio of a series 2 rst is 3.82:1

so the series 2 gear box is the longest anyway! the thing to do would be to fit a diesel gearbox with the rs turbo lsd and final drive. that would give you very long gearing!

also in gear ratio world the lower the number the longer the gear if you know what i mean.

trust me it will go well off the clock! but wont be as quick getting there as a standard box! good for moterway driving!
