Default Mk4/S2 Clutch Ratchet & Pawl... now fitted with problems

The end part of mine snapped yesterday resulting in the cable snapping today...

Will a MK5+ one fit? As I know every motor factors is going to tell me no chance when I ask for a Mk4 one

Any ideas on the best place to source a decent one would be helpful

u can still buy a mk4 quadrant from local car shop, about £4ish...

Maybe in Essex, but up here in salty Scotland a MK4 is about as common as a Model T
They usually laugh when you ask for parts for an 80s car in a factors.

Will do my best to hunt one down tomorrow

dont bother with a motorfactors quadrant they dont last long as above get a genuine ford one if ur local dealer has none phone one in england and ask them if they can order it and then arrange for it to be sent to ur local dealers ive done this before

Right... managed to source one and just got my local garage to fit it, figured it would be £30 well spent as I wasn't looking forward to lying upside down for hours fitting it!

First few times I pressed the clutch pedal it clicked loudly.... and now the bite point is practically on the floor.... also crunched when selecting reverse.

Had a look up at the pedal and the ratchet seems to be at its furthest away position.

Any ideas what's happened?

Do you have the large spring from the quadrant to the pedal attached?

Looks like I was sold an early MK4 or MK3 version....
Got a proper late MK4 one to be collected from Ford tomorrow.....

Would this have caused the really low bite point I described?
