Default Overboosting

i have a mk2 fiesta XR2 with an escort RS Turbo engine in.

recently had it rolling roaded at 190bhp but the clutch was slipping like mad due to all the power, so fitted a paddle clutch, so hopefully should see more than that when i go back.

it was setup on 15psi and has a big front mount intercooler and is chipped running a stage 1 turbo.

now last nite i was driving and when it hit boost it would cut out for a asecond then id have control back. spoke to some ppl and they said its "overboosting"

what i want to know is what EXACTLY is this, and what are the causes...and how can i stop it?

i have a bleed vave to control boost.

thanks for any help

Ry xxl

i had a friend in the car and he did say it went to 18psi at one point. why would it do this if it was set at 15psi?

Take it back where you got it tuned from and explain to them what the problem is. When you say recently, how recently did you get it tuned?

Have you got a bleed valve because i had my gearbox fitted once on my ERST once and the cowboy mechanic also managed to mess around with my bleed valve. Why dont you just turn the boost down

Get rid of your bleed valve and go for a new -31 actuator this could be the cause. Like James birch said take it back to where you had it tuned and tell them and dont mess with that bleed valve they can do more harm than good
