ZVH Conversion advice needed
Hello Folks
I'm gonna ask this question and i'm sure that all the answers will be on here somewhere, but here goes.
I'm thinking about doing a zvh conversion on my Series two, what sort of things do i need. I've got a 1.8 zetec block and i know that the oil breather on the front needs moving and the block needs tapping for an oil return for the turbo and some oil galleries need blocking up.
But do i need some low compression pistions cos i've seen people do them with a decomp plate and two head gaskets, but that doesnt seem like a long term solution to me.
Does the CVH Head need some extra alloy welding to in so that it gets a good seal on the head gaskets?
What about engine management i've been looking at Fiesta RST OFAB management? i know this mean needing the efi inlet, but will i need the flywheel aswell cos thats got a position sensor on it.
Any advice, would be greatly accepted.
cheers
chris

Oranco is right... You should go 2.0 ZVH then there would be some sence
But if you still want to do that, then yes you have to do all the things you said. But you mentioned that you have only the block. Then you'll have to get sump, dipstick, oil pump, flywheel, CPS of the 1.6 or 1.8 zetec escort as CVH bits will not be OK.
P.S. you could stay on original MFI with that 1.8, then you would need no change in management and the head with all the bits could stay. You need no welding to it anyways.
As for the compression, you will need to skim your pistons at least.
