was driving the RS a few days ago and heard a click when i put the clutch down, the gears started feeling harder to get in. I then heard a second click when i put the clutch down and now non of the gears go in. Anyone have any ideas i just has a AP clutch put with the pedal conversion. All he gears go in when the cars off but not when its on.....

 

Mk5 escorts have a auto clutch adjusterter i think, most likely some to do with it adjusting itself?

 

does the adjuster go straight through the top of the peddle and how will i know how much to udjust it, i thought maybe my quadrant had gone.

 

I thought when you did the pedal conversion you got rid of the auto adjuaster?

 

It was only an idea mate, i havent done it on mine, just know it was a bit dodgy when i had my other escort (not mk4)

 

sounds like ur quadrent has broke have u still got a clutch pedal or has it gone to the floor??????????

 

When my quadrant went the pedal worked fine but could'nt get gears. They are a twat to fit if it has gone

 

Sounds like the quadrant has broke,you'll have to remove it to have a look.Regards,Micky
