you'll need a dial guage and timing disc. you put the timing disc on the blue bottom pulley and align the 0 on guage with the ford nick on pulley at tdc, now move crank clockwise 118 degrees and thats the bottom end done. here i take cam belt off and move the cam clockwise till i see the number 1 inlet valve is opening and i watch till it gets to the point where the valve starts to close and stop. you now put dial guage tip on the inlet valve and move it backwards and forwards till you find the point at which the valve is at its full open position and put belt back on. give the engine a couple of turns by hand to make sure everything is ok then stop on the 118 again and make sure the valve is fully open if not undo the adjustable part of pulley and it'll allow you to move cam to desired position tighten up again and repeat the turning over by hand again. thats now full lift at 118 degrees but if your not sure or confident leave well alone or it could be costly. there's no quick set up neither but you can put your own marks on for future reference once done.

As above.

once your've done it before and got the equipment, cam fitment and timing can be done in less than 2 hours. (in a panic rush i've done it before in a hour, but was on my own car, so no issues at all)

so all i do is advance the bottom pulley 118 degrees from original tdc mark, then set the cylinder head at its highest reach on number 1 inlet valve.

Other approach is to mount it exactly as your old cam was and then try a few different settings and choose the one which provided the best powerband for your liking.

Th eoptimum cam timing is anyhow much dependent on your turbo and other factors.
