From experience with mine, I have no arch mods and lowered 25MM. they go straight on, but either needlonger wheel bolts or need to modify your standard ones by using the collets that come with the wheel on the bolts. Secondly, mine used to catch with justone person in the passenger, let alone back. I now have coil assistors in the back which have helped and now get rubbing only on serious dips etc, I don't have people in the back, but if I did I think it would be rub city!

if they are the new soft spoke rs 7 then you need specail nut if they are the polished faced version then no standard turbo nuts fit with your mods you may get a bit of rubbing when fully loaded

thanks boys. some people say it will catch others say it wont. not sure what to do. I used to have a nova with bigger wheels and i couldnt get people in the back which pissed me off. would it cost to have arches rolled!

Yes it would cost and it will catch. simple. There are ways round it as I said, or don't have ppl in the back

I have not tried coilovers myself, I think KEV with Doo's old white S2 who also has RS 7's has just put coilovers on as his rubs a bit, but then I think his has had arch work done and that sits proper low.

thanks for the advice adam. looks like a bit of arch work might be needed. the bloke hes buying them off says they will fit straight on but thats probably just him wanting a quick sale!

The point is they will fit straight on, but wether they rub with X amoutn of people in or on X amount of bumps is a different matter

As Adam said mate, ive gone from around 60mm low, to around 25mm on coilovers, all i m gonna do is slam it for shows etc, TBH the ride is sooo much better, doesnt look as good though. My arches have been cut away quite alot mate, and TBH my wheels do rub if i have 2 people in the back Heres a pic of mine when it was at its lowest.

Ya can just about see the cut away arches on this one too mate

I find that the inside of my wheels sit very very close to the inside coilover though, anyone else have this??

thanks for the pics - they do look really good!

does anyone have any experience of koni adjustables with these wheels? the ride is pretty firm at the moment so hopefully he can stick with them. but will they foul on the suspension cup?

sorry for all the questions - but theres no doubt these are the best wheels to go on a S2!

thanks lads all mint motors and they are the nicest wheels for a s2 for sure. But im not sure i can face another car scraping over every bump again. mite look for some 16 inch wheels. I think the wheels are the only thing that lets my car down.

just fitted my rs 7 spokes to the series 1, got a 30mm drop, only scraping on drivers side front, very minor so some arch work will be done tomorrow day, my mate has done it to his old series 2 so he is going to give us a hand plus he is more clued up on that area so i will let you know how it goes.

Hi Folks,
I have some brand new, boxed Ford RS 7 Spokes that have been sat in my garage for ages. what are they worth?? They are the non-diamond cut version in a 17".

Will they go on my series II ok?? it is standard suspension, but feel it woul at least need a small drop to make it look right. I would not cut my arches etc Will they rub?? If so i will just sell them???

Thanks folks

James

just fitted rs 7's to mine:

spent nearly £80 on mondeo alloy wheel nuts, then sawed them in half to get the collets off! could have used an angle grinder i know but didnt want to risk breaking the collets at nearly £4.50 a nut!

took about an hour and a half with a good saw!

finally got the wheels on and it was all worth it!

so pleased! they transform the looks and there are not many wheels that look this good on a s2 IMO!
ive got standard suspension, so coilovers will be coming in 3 weeks...
they have only rubbed for me if i hit a dip in the road, i dont have people in the back so i wouldnt know about that!!
cheers, matt

stick em on and see what you think, there is a lad on this forum selling a set of diamond cut ones for £500 w/o tyres... cant get them from ford no more so getting a set will be difficult if you change your mind. matt

If i was you i would either stick with the standard wheels or maybe go for a set of 16s so then you will not have to worry about cutting the arches, also if you go for anything bigger than 16s then your cars accelaration will be slightly slower. Dont get me wrong but 17s do look the boloks. Another thing is if you go 2 sizes up then your wheel bearings wont last as long as i discovered with another Escort i used to have. I have thought about getting a bigger set of rims but decided to stick with the standards and maybe have something done with them like having them chromed or resprayed high power silver or even diamond cut. THINK ABOUT IT

People are saying these wheels are not available but ive seen them on www.fordpartsuk.com sit for £450 odd quid inc vat and delivery but without tyres. Ive seen 16inch rs 7 spoke diamond cut wheels too but are very hard to find. Wouldnt mind getting the 16inch version as there wont be no need to mess around with arches.

There are 16inch ones but very hard to find. Somebody has them on their mondeo in one of the fast ford issues and i also saw them on ebay about 1 month ago but they were too far to collect and whoever was selling them wasnt willing to post them.
