cgi block
steel h section rods,
cp oversized pistons, ( forged )
knife edged crank
arp bolts,
nascar bearings
high pressure oil pump
stage 3 cvh cylinderhead / stainless valves!!
gt30 turbo
cosworth L8 managed / pectel board
antilag ect

this should be a decent spec..

i think the weakpoint will be the cylinder head due to the fact its a 8valve cvh!!!

Omex
Steel H or I section rods
A Decent Forged piston
CGI Block
Large Siemen Injectors
ARP Bolts through out
Steel Crank
Nikasil liners
Tubular mainfold
GT28RS
NMS or APT head work

How deep are your pockets...

And tbh, I'd go for a full 16v

Thats what I was thinking, if your pockets are deep enough to build the ultimate you would have the money to use a 16v head

ITB's & decent exhaust manifold.
AVA spec'd & modded T3/4 Turbo.
JE or CP Pistons CR in the 7's custom made to standard bore..
Id Stick with Pauter Rods or Arrows Rods.
Keeping the bore as is, using custom pistons after all.
Same headwork as per last CVH(Stage whatever lol) but with valves custom made in the States.
Newmans Cam.
AEM, Autronic, Motec, Omex, or DTA management.
Dry Sump Kit.

ok all you lot say " how deep are your pockets "

tbh you can build a zetec bottom end up for less that a cvh!!!

u just need to know where to get the parts from.. i began to build a zetec turbo.. dropped on a full zetec 2.0l engine for Ł60... eagle steel rods - Ł200ish i think.. got the cp pistons for less that Ł400.. ect.. ect..

dont forget prices from the STATES are a lot less than here,, and they use the zetec engine over there in there zx2 ( focus )

then i lost interest and flogged the lot!!!! a bloke from here bought the rods, cant member who tho..

Exactly! Why spend all that cash on building a decent bottom end, then get it worked to plonk on an 8v head when it already has a 16v head on!!!

CVH's are good, Im not doubting that, look at the few on here

I just dont get the point in building a ZVH and downgrading 8v's

i i am rightly told.. i was told that a standard zetec head can flow 400bhp!!!!

so if all you peeps are thinking of going zvh just plonk a 16v head on instead, can pick em up cheap as chips..

also a good tip for people build zetec turbo / zvh's.. if you want custom pistons to you own comp tratio ect,, email cp or je and tell em what engine they are for and what comp ratio you want and bore size,.. they will sort you out with a very competetive price..

say if you want cp pistons they may cost under Ł400.. where as ian howell at area six wats Ł550+

deffo better buying direct and no middle men

you'll be lucky if a standard zetec head can do a true 300bhp

why dont you go 16v and unleash a little more from your engine?

i know you have a pukka head but you could always sell on an put that towards it

just thinking out loud

hi gus

engine is in bits as we speak but to do a 16v properly i will be looking at at lease Ł1200 for a pumaracing ported big valve head Ł350 for a set of cams then a decent inlet manifold Ł500 different exhaust manifold Ł800 and a bigger turbo to suit the better flowing head gt30 Ł1100 then i will have to redesign my engine bay, i'm sure there is more bits zvh are a waste of time unless you already spent quite a bit on the top half of your former cvh engine which in my case was a 1.9cvh..
i have thought about going 16v numerous times just the expense puts me off, there are things that piss me off about the cvh head ie cam wear and the bloody rocker studs
i wont have to be chasing numbers with the cvh head because there is only so much you can do and i can just focus on putting the power down which i cant at the moment.. something like paul johnsons engine i would love to have but just think of the cost

haha yeah, but show me a zvh engine running high enough power to justify the use of nikasil liners...?
thats like recommending a paddle clutch for my grandmothers 1.0 micra with automatic shift.

My ULTIMATE spec of ZVH would be the following -

CGI block
CP pistons (slipper)
8.5 CR
Arrows rods
Arrows crank
Uprated main bearing caps
ARP bolts and studs
Billet oil pump or even go dry sump
Vandervall bearing
Tripple plate clutch (spring can be lighter than a twin or single)
CVH head with 45mm inlet valves
Heavly ported head
Newman cam P4 cam and springs
Solid followers
Spray bar on cam for more lubricaton
High flow inlet manifold
2.5 to 3 inch inlet piping
PWR charge cooler
Larger rad
Jamsport exhaust manifold
GT35 turbo approx
3 inch exhaust system
Any aftermarket ECU
Water injection

I think thats about it.

the focus is a zx3 (zetec, 3door hatch)
the escort (97-04) is a zx2 (zetec, 2door coupe)

for all that need cheap zetec parts, i can source for you over here and ship

be aware that the escort zetec motor has different internals than the focus/contour/mystique/escape zetec (the ford escape was a 2wd or 4wd suv with the zetec motor)

i would like to build up the cvh us-spec cyl head and so far i have the leanburn head hemi'ed out (machined) and 2.3L lima engine double valve springs (from sierra xr4ti motor)
i think i will keep the us-spec oe 2.0L spi cvh stock intake and exhaust valves, but i need a cam solution for upper rpm!!

here are the 1.9L/2.0L CVH and focus/escort zetec internals dimensions:
http://www.escortfocus.com/html/engi...fications.html

notice most are in inches, so do your conversions to mm you bloody brits

let me know some stuff too!
