hi guys, just wonderd if any 1 can help? my speedo jumps on my rs turbo van (s2 lump) with lsd box, ive tried a mates speedo head, new cable and even the plastic drive in the box with no joy, ive got a 1600 diesel box spare but if i use this do i have to swap plasic drive from lsd box 4 speedo 2 work correct?

could be box on its way out you dont have to change drive to put diesel box in go in no bother but a found mine went bit slower with diesel box in

cheers guys, think it routed ok but will check, mite just put diesel box in and c how i get on, has any 1 used a 1600 d box?

if you use a diesel box you'll find it will have a better top end but lose lower down

but it can also mean you'll get to 60 in 2nd rather than having to change to 3rd
(or thereabouts)

not sayin a diesel box is bad, can be better, means a higher 1st gear too which is better all round

i have a diesel box with a lsd fitted was in the car very short while before stripping but more drivable

ok mate thanks, its hard to no wot box to use, as i say only looking to cange it as my speedo no workin correct, so mite put the diesel one in while get lsd rebuilt, i think its personal choice as sum peeps like diesel box n sum dont, do u still have that mk4 estate from ur pic?

thats wot 1 place said that i spoke to, anuva said maybe the worm gear that drives the red plastic drive in the box,

dont use a 3i box mate, i tryed that. big mistake, gearing is so wrong for an rs, i was flat out at 110. got a dieasle box on it now, nice big gaps between changeing gear now, no lsd but next best thing to the proper box!!

thanks m8! wot box u using 1.6d or 1.8d? a m8 put a 3i box in his rs1600i an said the same as u.........slow
