Default What handbrake cable for Rear disc conversion S1

I am having a few issues with my rear disc conversion, i have had it all fitted for a while and its never really worked right.
I want to make sure i have the right cable first before i start looking into other possibilities ( recently had rear calipers overhauled/remanufactured so not them thats the problem)

I cannot seem to get rid of all the slack in the cable, i get it to apoint where i have approx 5 clicks on the handbrake, when applied the threaded cable seems to pull through the adjuster.
It looks from underneath the car like the cable isnt moving through the cresent moon, but when operated it does. Is the cresent supposed to be changed to match the new cable or is the original MK3 item sufficient?

Thanks in advance.

you need the 2 piece Mk5 RS2000 cable.

You HAVE to change the crescent, but thats more to stop it fouling the floor pans.

And chances are you haven't adjusted it up enough either, but make sure you change the crescent half moon thingy first

handbrake on mine is spot on

Thanks for the replys guys,

I was looking under the car at it yesterday and i did replace the cresent at the same time ( its part of the cable assembly) it was just such a long time ago that i fitted it i ad forgotten

Anyway was playing around adjusting it and have found that when you adjust it right up to give a good handbrake, under load the adjuster slips up the outer cable so unless i make up a clip/braket to hold the adjuster on the threaded outer coating it will need a new one. Could be a faulty cable i suppose as i dont think i bought a genuine ford item at the time.
